Snuggle Pup

Rupie and I are on our own while hubby and April are interstate doing some pets-as-therapy for the in-laws who haven’t been too well lately.  April is providing good company to her Granny and Grandpa in her very quiet, elegant, understated, greyhound-type way.  She’s a lovely calming presence and goes about her job without too much noise or fuss.

We are missing them, of course, but it’s also nice to spend some special time with Rupie on his own – he’s been lovey, cuddly and pleased to see me when I get home, in his quirky, chatty way.  We’ve been for walks, and hot chocolates at his favourite cafes.  We’re having a cold snap today and for the next couple of days, so it’s nice to have someone to cuddle up to at night (sorry hubby!!), until I have to gently remove him when he starts snoring… in case you’ve lost the thread of the story, it is Rupie (a dog) who I’m cuddled up to and who snores!!

I’m sure hubby is also snuggling up to a dog on these cold nights (is it a one or two dog night, do you think?) but she doesn’t snore, so he’s getting a full night’s sleep!!

What do you do to keep warm on cold nights?

  1. Whee wish whee could snuggle up with our Mumny on cold nights but she might roll over and squish us! Instead she cuddles us in fleece blankets while having a hot chocolate then puts us to bed with losts of extra hay and shredded paper bedding. It is quite warm here at the moment for us though!

  2. Mummy would like it if I snuggled her feet and kept them warm when its cold. But I get too hot, so she has to make do with extra socks instead BOL

  3. Don’t worry Misaki, once the weather turns cold in your part of the world, your Mummy will be very glad of your warmth- just wait for the right moment to show her how good a feet warmer you can be! Love your BOL!!

  4. You’re pretty lucky your mummy doesn’t want to squish you boys!! Enjoy your non-squish hay and shredded paper and keep warm once the weather turns a bit chilly over your way. We’re desperately waiting for some warmer weather here – it’s been a cold wet winter (by our Aus standards, anyway!!).

  5. Three cats, a dog and, in my case, a snoring husband work well at the keeping warm – all just a little crowded on the bed sometimes. Lovely pic.

  6. Wow, that does sound a little crowded – a big happy family though xx
